Summer Vacation is almost here (ha ha ha)

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

For like the first time ever, I finished my take home quiz without staying up until 3AM the night before.  Its due today and I finished it before midnight.

My last one is due in 2 weeks, then the final is the Tuesday after.  Where will I be the weekend in between?

Sterling, Mi, drinking beer and cooking over a campfire.  Lets hope I don’t forget everything from one weekend of fun.

Computer woes.

Monday, July 3rd, 2006

Finally.  I had the time to put my computer in the new chassis with the new power supply.  It looks nice.  Its super small and was a pain to fit everything inside but it all fit.  Now I can finally start on my homework, but not before I go out tonight, do some cleaning and laundry.  I still have part two of the traverse city blog.  I’ll do it at work tomorrow.

Traverse City Part 1: The Cherry Festival.

Monday, July 3rd, 2006

I feel like the cherry equivalent to Bubba from Forrest Gump:

“Well theres cherry mustard, cherry pie, cherry bbq sauce, cherry salsa, cherry cheese, cherry wine, cherry soda, cherry tea, cherry relish, cherry …”

It could go on forever.

I gotta say, I’m a bit cherried out, but its my own fault. Saturday we made way to Traverse City. Once we got to the festival grounds I found heaven: tents full of vendors with open jars and crackers.  Not a single jar was left untasted. I tried several preserves, jams, mustards, bbq sauces, and here I go like Bubba again. Lauren found the sweet relish her dad loves. I grabbed a jar of cherry mustard and some pretzels. Then we decided to skip on the pie and choose cherry and cheese danish tins. We actually bought a bit more, but it was all a cherry blur.

Before leaving TC, we met up with my parents who were in the area. We had some pasta at Roma’s. Tired and full we headed back to our motel in Bellaire. We decided not to go out for the night. Rather we walked to the grocery store, got some OJ and Parrot Bay and stayed in watching movies, drinking and eating pretzels with my cherry mustard.

We’re up north

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

we made it up alright. were staying in an awesome motel near Torch Lake in Bellaire.

Last night I took Lauren to a bar/grill right on the lake where. Clam River connects. After sunset, we took a little drive then wound up in downtown Bellaire for. some ice cream.

Today we’re going downtown for breakfast then off to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival.
