A Reunion of Many Old Friends

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

This weekend has been filled with poeple I haven’t seen in a long time.  Friday night at McGee’s, Tommy Cromboly and Jackie showed up.  I hadn’t seen them in about 3 years.  I got to talk with Jackie and catch up.  We were good friends in HS, but never much outside of school.

Last night was a going away party for a few friends.  We had a bon fire with the old crowd and I felt like I was in high school again.  Josh P has been in Grand Rapids for 3 years and is now packing up his three oxen and 5 boxes of ammunition and moving to Oregon; hopefully avoiding scarlet fever.  Nick Diamond got a job oppritunity in Madison, WI.  He’ll be gone for at least a year.

Lastly Karl came to Michigan for the weekend.  I caught him for a few mintues yesterday as he was driving past my house and hopefully we will catch him today before he leaves back for NY.

Somehow, Lauren managed to get next Friday through Sunday off.  We’re thinking of either going to Chicago or Traverse City for the Cherry Festival.  It would be a lot easier to plan if my computer didnt finally blow up.  There goes $100 I wasn’t planning on spending so soon.

Tonight is The Parcels Fireworks in Grosse Pointe.  We’ll be there around 7-8.  If youre going give me a call.

Oh, and its 1-1 in the 8th.  Were close to a sweep on the NL’s #1 team and staying a game ahead of CHW.

First day of Summer: Thunderstorms Throughout

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

Its a beautiful day for those who like rain…and I love it.  I wish my desk was closer to the window.  I can slightly hear the thunder.  Its been a quiet day so far.  i hope it stays that way.

Its amazing the mentality of some people here.  They believe that holding back information is the key to their job security.  Its a shame for them that its my job to pry it out of their hands, analyze it and make it accessible.

In other news, the date planned for camping is just over a month away.  I really need a final count and a $4 deposit from everyone.  For more information, go to http://paralleljohnny.com/camping

Back to work.

Party Like A Rockstar

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

So I was up until 3:30 this morning working on my homework.  What a crazy class.  I guess it would be fine if I wasn’t working 40 hrs/week.  So I crashed at 3:30, woke up at 7:30, left the house by 8.  I managed to get into work before 9, which means I won’t have too much time to make up.

Its after lunch now and I was starting to crash, so I decided to go downstairs and get some caffeine.  I tried my first Rockstar Energy drink today.  It tastes like a Bombpop mixed with sour tarts, but i think it did the trick.  I’ve only had about 4 of the 16 ounces and I feel much better.

UPDATE:  I think Rockstar contains the tears of a phoenix.

What a day for Kenny Rogers.

  • 200 wins.
  • 8 innings with only 101 pitches.
  • His club hits 8 HR
  • He gets in on the hitting action, himself with a nice double.to the fence.

Geoff’s Homemade Air Conditioner:

For about $20 you can have the ugliest DIY air conditioner ever invented.  It is however a nice introduction to how an AC works, if you were ever curious.
