If you haven’t heard yet:
The 4th Harry Potter movie, Goblet of Fire is set to come out in November. Just last week the official website was released. Much of it still is marked with “coming soon”, but there are a few features worth looking at.
Most important of the site is the trailer. Its a short one and even shows clips of past movies making it seem more like a teaser.
Then they have a place to cheer for the athletes of the Triwizard Tournament. You can download your favorite wizard’s campaign kit to show your support. I’ll be placing mine up shortly.
The bottom of the site has small icons of all the 2nd-bill characters; however when you mouseover them, it shows a “coming soon.” Hopefully this means each character is getting their own page. I noticed that the left-most one is Ginny. If I remember, she was barely in the 4th book. Maybe the movie will give her a larger role.
The site has no still shots of the movie. If you want to see those, I suggest MuggleNet or The Leaky Cauldron. New pictures were just released yesterday.
So if I forget to clock my hours by 8AM for the previous day, I receive an email reminding me to do so. When I got back from lunch I realized that I didn’t clock yesterdays hours and wondered why I hadn’t received an email warning.
Thats when I realized I never opened Lotus Notes (our mail program) this morning. Now I usually run it as soon as I get in, but I’m prone to forgetting within the first hour. I believe 5 hours is a new record. Of course when I opened Notes, there was my timecard warning along with about 10 other messages and 2 meeting invites. Apparently I closed Notes at one point yesterday and never reopened it, since I have a few messages that I should have received yesterday. Oh well.
And I still haven’t clocked my hours.
Not too much happening on the web to report today. I guess I resort to reporting reality.
Saturday morning was my EPE down at Wayne. I hated it. I wrote an analysis on some data about the population growth of bilingual children in America. It was horrible and the visit to campus only got worse. I knew a lot would be closed, being a Saturday, but I wasn’t expecting everything. I wanted to 1)Replace my Onecard 2) Pickup an admission override form 3) eat. I couldn’t do any of it. The Engineering Building was open but the foyer with my needed form was locked as well as the Welcome Center and Student Center.
To lift my spirits, as I was driving away, WDET mentioned having a garage sale. So I drove over to the station on Cass and Canfield. They were selling a bunch of stuff including old premiums from past pledge drives. I got myself a hoodie that I really wanted when they were offering it, but you had to pledge like $120. Its really comfy and I love it.
Later, Lauren and I went out to dinner at Lucy’s on the Hill. It was really good food and not as badly priced as I expected. Afterwards, we met up with Tammy and a bunch of others at McGee’s for karaoke.
Sunday was fairly lazy. I spend the day at Lauren’s. We ate Chinese and watched A Haunting in Georgia.
Yesterday after work I rode my bike for an hour. I was so tired and sweaty, but I need to do it more often. I used to ride my bike for miles without it phasing me at all. I want to get to where I can ride about 25 miles to Eastpointe in a few hours.
